The DA says the ANC must confront the inconvenient truth that Transnet, like every other state-owned entity, is a haven for systemic inefficiency, corruption, and economic imprudence. Transnet has asked government to take on a portion of its historical debt, similar to the 245-billion-rand debt relief offered to Eskom. The state logistics company continues to struggle under a 130-billion-rand debt pile and other operational and financial challenges.
