Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs minister of South Africa,Thembi Nkadimeng, says governance has regressed massively in municipalities, especially in metros. She spoke on the sidelines of the ANC National Executive Committee meeting in Boksburg,[ Ekurhuleni. The 2022 census report highlighted that access to service delivery has shown some improvements from 2001 to 2022, with over 80-percent of households in the country having access to piped water. Nkadimeng says government is working with the Auditor General and municipalities to address the gaps in delivering services:
