Mineral Resources and Energy minister Gwede Mantashe is calling for an investigation into the multiple resignations of executives from several state-owned enterprises. Transnet’s CEO Portia Derby and Transnet Freight Rail CEO Siza Mzimela both recently resigned in the space of a week. Eskom board chairperson Mpho Makwana’s resignation was announced on Monday evening. Mantashe says this matter will be discussed when Cabinet meets:
