Phase one of the Oshakati fire station, consisting of a call centre, accommodation, a fitting room, and parking areas for firefighting equipment has been officially inaugurated. The town’s Mayor Leonard Hango, says that because of the growth of the town, the council saw the need to establish a fully equipment fire station to replace the existing zinc structure. The first phase of the development cost N$8.8 million, while the second phase will cost a further N$6.7 million.
