Namibians planning a trip to South Africa via Noordoewer should take note that the section of the N7 known as Fyf Myl Poort, approximately 10km after Vioolsdrift, has been closed due to heavy flooding. News24 quotes the South African National Roads Agency as saying that the road has already been severely damaged, and with water levels continuing to rise it is likely that more damage will occur. The section of road will therefore need to be closed for a period to effect necessary repairs once the water levels have receded.
