City of Windhoek considers pensioner debt relief

The City of Windhoek is developing a long-term plan to forgive debt for pensioners and waive interest for all residents. The decision follows a petition from the Katutura Residence Committee, which expressed dissatisfaction with the City’s debt collection process. The City currently holds a total debt of N$1.2 billion, with N$255 million of that debt belonging to pensioners.
