The White House is asking lawmakers in Congress to approve an additional $24 billion in funding for Ukraine, countering China and US defense. Our US Correspondent Benji Hyer reports that the United States has so far given Ukraine more than $113 billion in aid since Russia invaded in February last year. But Kevin McCarthy, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has previously expressed he would not back supplemental assistance to the war-torn nation.
