The South African poultry industry faces mounting losses amid bird flu outbreaks

The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform, and Rural Development says the country is currently dealing with 50 H7 and ten H5 strains of bird flu outbreaks spanning five provinces. The Western Cape is grappling with the majority of H5 outbreaks with seven cases, while Gauteng is facing the most significant impact from H7 with 37 cases.
