The GOOD Party says they have no reason to doubt that Kholeka Gcaleka has the credentials and experience to re-assert the independence of the Office of the Public Protector and rise to the challenge of restoring its integrity. The National Assembly has voted to recommend Gcaleka as the new Public Protector and president Cyril Ramaphosa must now officially appoint her. GOOD’s secretary-general, Brett Herron, says the Office of the Public Protector is a creation of the Constitution to strengthen constitutional democracy:
