South Africa’s Minister of Energy says the transition away from coal must be inclusive and fair

Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy in South Africa Gwede Mantashe says the government is committed to a low-carbon transition but it needs to be inclusive and fair. He was speaking at the African Energy Week in Cape Town yesterday. South Africa currently relies heavily on coal for about 70-percent of its total electricity production.
