South African Poultry Association says it plans to divert eggs meant for export

The South African Poultry Association says it plans to divert eggs meant for export into various retail store shelves because of the shortage of eggs in the country. It is estimated that the egg industry will only recover after 18-months following the avian flu outbreak. The association’s Abongile Balarane told Newzroom Afrika close to 30-percent of South Africa’s egg production has been affected.
