The South African National Health Council will today convene a meeting to address the state of the public healthcare system. Health minister Joe Phaahla and deputy minister Sibongiseni Dhlomo, along with members of the Executive Council responsible for Health, will tackle various issues impacting healthcare quality. These include medico-legal claims, cost containment measures, and new vaccine introductions. Discussions will also encompass the avian flu risks to humans, the expansion of online birth registrations, and maternity and neonatal care guidelines. The gathering aims to evaluate and improve the quality of healthcare services.
