CEO of fundraising programme School-Days, Paul Esterhuizen, says that the costs of education at government and private schools in South Africa have increased between 4 and 6%. Esterhuizen also says the situation is unlikely to change, with “education inflation expected to continue to outpace the consumer price index by up to 3%”, and “the cost of education … expected to ultimately exceed salary inflation”.
