SA’s Presidency welcomes the dismissal of Jacob Zuma’s private prosecution appeal

South Africa’s Presidency welcomes the dismissal of former president Jacob Zuma’s private prosecution efforts against his successor, Cyril Ramaphosa. The High Court in Johannesburg not only rejected the appeal but also imposed a cost order against Zuma. The former president had accused Ramaphosa of being complicit in his legal case against state prosecutor Billy Downer and journalist Karyn Maughan. Presidency spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says the private prosecution lacked legal merit:
