The SABC headquarters in Auckland Park, Johannesburg, has announced the implementation of contingency measures, saying all employees are safe after a fire in the radio building led to the evacuation of staff members. The evacuation was safely executed as a precautionary measure. The corporation will provide a further update once the emergency services have surveyed the situation. Johannesburg emergency services spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi says no injuries have been reported and the cause of the reported fire is under investigation.
