Russia has solidified its position as the leading global grain exporter. Meanwhile, the conflict in Ukraine disrupted the market, as Ukraine, a significant food commodities exporter, lost access to the crucial Black Sea route due to Russia’s invasion. Russian President Vladimir Putin told Reuters the country would soon make good on a promise made after the grain deal collapsed to deliver free shipments to six African countries.
