Retirement age being upped

Recent trends are seeing many countries increasing their formal retirement age to as high as 70, while more and more people are returning to the workplace after retirement to support themselves – a trend known as the great unretirement. City Press reports that because people are living longer in retirement, they need more money to support themselves and, even in countries with good state pensions, governments want people to work longer and earn an income to ease the burden on the public coffers of a growing elderly population.
