The Electricity Control Board has praised national power utility NamPower’s initiative to implement bulk prepaid meters for Regional Electricity Distributors and other clients. CEO Robert Kahimise commended the approach, saying it has the potential to reduce NamPower’s substantial debt. This effort stems from the necessity to disconnect power to defaulting clients, which accrued a significant debt of N$1.5 billion.
