Namibia a leading contender in looming lithium boom

Namibia is emerging as a key player in the upcoming lithium boom, securing the fourth position after Zimbabwe, Mali, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. According to the 2023 U.S. Geological Survey’s Mineral Commodity Summaries, global identified lithium resources have surged to around 98 million tonnes. Simonis Storm’s optimistic projections indicate a potential contribution of N$4.6 billion to the government’s revenue from the lithium sector.
