Deputy South African President Paul Mashatile has denied allegations by News24 that he was living a lifestyle funded by state capture-linked Edward Sodi and Ndavhe Mareda. Mashatile’s office unequivocally distanced him from any wrongdoing saying: “The deputy president has never awarded, influenced, or in any way caused any state or public sector contract to be awarded to the individuals and companies mentioned by News24”. It added that Mashatile would challenge anyone to prove any wrongdoing on his part.
