Mashatile claims there’s “a plot to oust him”

South African Deputy President, Paul Mashatile, says there is a conspiracy to oust him. City Press reports that Mashatile, whose four months in office have been filled with drama, refused to name those involved, but said they had set a deadline of August to see him removed. President Cyril Ramaphosa, who has the power to appoint and fire his deputy, has squarely rejected Mashatile’s assertion though, saying there was “no truth or substance” to his claims.
