Lotto player says machine cost him R42 million

If you think you have bad luck spare a thought for the South African lotto player who says a lotto machine jammed while reading his ticket, costing him R 42 million. News24 reports that the man claims that after failing to have his winning ticket validated on the machine he went to another terminal the following day and he was paid only R37.50. Lotto operator, Ithuba, however insists that the coupon he presented was paid correctly, and that his ticket was not a jackpot-winning ticket. The jackpot, at the time, was rolled over and won at a much later date.
