Future Media & Sanlam Hit 4 Hope Charity Golf Day Raises Over N$100,000 For Education

Windhoek, Namibia – 15 March 2024 – The Windhoek Golf & Country Club was abuzz with excitement on Friday, 8 March 2024, as the much-anticipated Future Media and Sanlam Hit 4 Hope Charity Golf Day swung into action. The event drew golfers from a variety of corporate teams, all teeing off with the shared goal of making a positive impact on education in Namibia.

Through entry fees and a generously supported auction, the charity golf day raised an impressive N$120,391.00

These funds will be directed towards two remarkable non-profit organizations, both dedicated to advancing educational efforts across the country.

Sanlam Namibia joined forces with Future Media as the event’s trusted partner. Education is a fundamental pillar for Sanlam, complementing its commitment to Training, Empowerment and Entrepreneurial Development, Health and Welfare, and Sport Development.

“Sanlam is deeply committed to empowering and equipping young Namibians with the knowledge and skills essential for success, thereby contributing to a brighter future for our nation. Our proud support of the Hit for Hope Charity Golf Day underscores this commitment, as it aimed to provide crucial assistance to the differently-abled members of our community through the Side-by-Side Early Intervention Center – an integral aspect deeply integrated into our Health and Welfare corporate social investment pillar. This initiative reflects our dedication to ensuring that no Namibian child is left behind in terms of education. By investing in initiatives like these, Sanlam remains steadfast in its mission to uplift and support all members of our society, fostering a more inclusive and prosperous future for Namibia,” stated Dr Evans Simataa, General Manager Brand and People.

The Side-by-Side Early Intervention Center, a beacon of hope for children living with disabilities and their families, was one of the beneficiaries of the event. Under the dynamic leadership of Huipie van Wyk, the Managing Director of Side-by-Side, the center provides invaluable support and opens up development opportunities that empower these remarkable children.

“Side by Side is so honored and grateful to be a beneficiary of this prestigious event once again.  This contribution paves the way to make sure every child with a disability is heard and included throughout our education sector,” expressed Huipie van Wyk, reflecting on the impact of the contributions made through the Hit 4 Hope Charity Golf Day.

The Learn On One Foundation, another remarkable organization, offers extra lessons via television and online platforms to learners in Pre-Primary, Primary, and Secondary Schools. This innovative approach ensures that students can access the additional support they need, no matter where they are.

“By participating in the Hit4Hope Charity Golf Day”, says Rukee Kaakunga, PR Officer for LearnOnOne,” participants did their part in directly empowering learners with access to free, quality education available for viewing on the LearnOnOne educational platform.

Other corporate sponsors of the day, who hosted activations on the golf course, were Metro, Pupkewitz Megabuild, Galito’s, Butcher Block, Torga Optical, CRVW Chartered Accountants, ABInBev, and Promobasket.
