Government seeks stadium upgrade proposals after 17-month delay

17 Months after the Ministry of Sport, Youth, and National Service, led by Agnes Tjongarero, pledged N$ 50 million towards the refurbishment of the stadium, the government is now seeking proposals from consultants, including architects and quantity surveyors. These proposals aim to bring the Independence Stadium in Windhoek up to the standards set by the Confederation of African Football. The minister explains why the process took so long.
