The former Okahandja Regional Councillor will appear in the Windhoek High Court on Friday. This is to appeal the Okahandja Magistrate’s Court’s refusal to grant him bail. Steve Biko Booys stands accused of raping his 20-year-old daughter. Booys who is alleged to have committed the offence in January 2021 at his Okahandja residence, has since been in custody and denied guilt. He faces two charges of rape and two alternative counts of incest. The State is refusing to grant Booys bail on the grounds of the seriousness of the offence, the administration of justice and public interest.
