Eskom implemented Stage three load-shedding from 8 o’clock last night, until further notice. This came after load-shedding was suspended at the start of the Heritage Weekend. However, the Stage three announcement was necessitated after three generating units broke down during the previous 24 hours. The power utility says it has also been unable to replenish the pumped storage dam levels sufficiently for the week ahead. Eskom undertook to provide further information should there be any significant changes to the situation.
