City of Tshwane says its employees will no longer receive their 13th cheque next month

The City of Tshwane says its employees will no longer receive their 13th cheque next month as usual but rather over three months. The total amount the city has to pay in 13th cheques amounts to 565.16-million-rand. Tshwane is under immense financial pressure and is struggling to service its debt including Eskom’s 3.2-billion-rand, and the ongoing wage strike.
