In the words of their current marketing campaign “get a warm fuzzy feeling this winter, knowing you were saving lives by donating blood and plasma”. This as the Blood Transfusion Service of Namibia’s Salmi Shiwedha tells us that during winter, blood donations generally drop due to many potential donors being deferred due to seasonal illnesses such as colds and flu.
