ActionSA in Johannesburg says it is gravely concerned about the financial status of the City of Johannesburg. It says with a budget of approximately 80.9-billion-rand, the city should be in a position to honour its financial obligations but the opposite is the case. ActionSA’s, Khomo Mashala, says one example is that Joburg Theatre has suspended all hospitality and catering services owing to the outstanding payments by the city:
