16 schools in Western Cape request to be closed due to the extensive storm damage

Western Cape Department of Education has confirmed that 16 schools in the region have requested to be closed due to the extensive damage caused by the storm. Giving an update on disaster management efforts following devastating storms over the weekend, the department’s deputy director general, Alan Meyer says the schools mostly affected are in the Cape Winelands, Overberg and Metro East Education Districts.
