The second edition of the MTC Namibia Youth Games were launched at the Namibia Sports Commission headquarters in Windhoek on Monday. The Namibia press agency reports that the championships will see an estimated 1 092 athletes and 168 coaches and officials gather at Rietfontein in the Otjozondjupa Region from 16 to 18 December 2020 to compete in eight sport codes, namely: football, netball, volleyball, basketball, boxing, tennis, athletics, and para-athletics. The Namibia press agency reports that speaking during the launch, Minister of Sport, Youth and National Service, Agnes Tjongarero, explained that the team that will be selected at the games will represent the country at the African Union Sport Councils, Region Five Youth Games scheduled for December 2021 in Lesotho.
