The vice-chancellor and principal at the Wits University says 95-percent of the university’s students have already been registered with the remaining being processed on a case by case basis. This, Newsflash reports, comes after 35-year-old Mthokosizi Ntumba was killed yesterday during a protest in which students demanded free education, even for those prevented from registering because of historical debt. Professor Zeblon Vilakazi says the so-called missing middle make up the bulk of the university’s one-billion-rand student debt.
