The Namibian Government’s stance on the precarious situation unfolding in Zimbabwe is weak and untenable, and undermines democratic values in the whole SADC region, Popular Democratic Movement leader McHenry Venaani has said, insisting that by voting down a motion on Zimbabwe moved by him in Parliament, Swapo chose to defend ZANU-PF rather than to address the great injustice being perpetrated against the people of Zimbabwe. The Namibia press agency reports that the PDM leader called on the Namibian Government to develop a comprehensive and decisive stance on Zimbabwe, saying “only when we call each other out on our wrongdoings, can we help each other as brothers and sisters in Africa”. He also said that SADC must decisively intervene and encourage dialogue between the government and opposition parties in Zimbabwe.
