The Embassy of the United States in Namibia donated four vehicles to the non-governmental organisation, Development Aid from People to People, as part of efforts to expand HIV services in Namibia. Nampa reports that a statement issued on Wednesday said the four vehicles that were donated are two Toyota Hilux pickups and two Toyota Land Cruisers with an approximate value of N$ 2.4 million. The President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief provided the funding for the vehicles through the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Namibia. The US Embassy’s Public Affairs Office, Walter Parrs was quoted in the statement as saying that the four new vehicles will allow DAPP to provide HIV testing services and other HIV care to new regions.
