Minister of Works and Transport John Mutorwa is still reportedly rejecting a plea by the Taxi Union of Namibia to have the current 15 percent increment on taxi fares, which was implemented during the State of Emergency to ensure taxi drivers could continue making a living, made permanent. Asked by Futute Media News what their position on the matter was, Namibia Transport and Taxi Union President, Werner Januarie, said they will give Government time to think about it.
