Tackling the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic presents a problem that can only be unravelled by high-level alliance among health institutions and the inhabitants of Kunene, the region’s Health Director Thomas Shapumba has said. Speaking to the Namibia press agency on how to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus he said this should be the responsibility of every person and not a one-man show, calling on people to “not just bank on the Health Ministry, police and other government institutions”. The health director further cautioned the region’s inhabitants to abide by all COVID-19 protocols by not travelling unnecessarily and avoiding gatherings, stating that there are still some scenarios where overcrowding is observed.
