South African President Cyril Ramaphosa says government has put in place a comprehensive Covid-19 vaccination strategy to reach all parts of the country, and is in the process of procuring Covid-19 vaccines through three channels, namely the World Health Organisation’s Covax facility, the African Union vaccine initiative, and direct engagements with vaccine manufacturers and developers. Addressing the nation yesterday evening, Ramaphosa said to date government has secured 20 million doses to be delivered mainly in the first half of the year.
