There are calls on social media for learners’ exam results not to be published in newspapers. They say it’s an invasion of privacy, and leads to depression, and is an embarrassment for many learners who fail. According to experts, they are confronted way too often with young people taking their own lives, seeking solace and comfort in drugs or alcohol because of the publication of examination results. Future Media News got in touch with Windhoek based psychologist, Dr. Shaun Whittaker who says it’s very concerning that exam results are still put in newspapers.
