Newly-appointed Commissioner for the Namibia Revenue Agency, Sem Shivute said the agency is committed to building a credible and trusted institution by serving in the best interest of all Namibians without fear or favour. The Namibia press agency quotes Shivute as saying that “The agency will carry out its mandate as guided by the Constitution of the Republic of Namibia, the taxation, customs and excise laws with integrity and good ethics which will be non-negotiable and there will be zero tolerance to corruption.” NamRA, he added will be founded on a strong and ethical leadership foundation, saying a strong revenue service and customs administration is the fundamental cornerstone of an effective State and key enabler in Government’s ability to fund expenditure and provide for its people.
