Hundreds of friends and family members gathered at the Hallelujah Parish in Katutura on Saturday to pay their last respect to the late Shannon Wasserfall. The Namibia press agency reports that among the mourners was Wasserfall’s aunt, who expressed gratitude to Namibians for rallying behind the family during their darkest hour as they went on a national search for Wasserfall. For them, it was encouraging to see Namibians from all walks of life stage demonstrations in Windhoek and Walvis Bay in protest against the unheralded and unprecedented number of gender-based violence atrocities being committed against women and children throughout the country.
