The bail hearing of Sekola Matlaletsa and Sekwetje Mahlamba resumed in the Senekal Magistrates’ Court in the Free State today. They are accused of the brutal murder of farm manager Brendin Horner earlier this month. Newsflash reports that police are deployed at the court again after their earlier appearance generated violent demonstrations, mainly by farmers, who demanded access to the pair. The National Prosecuting Authority is opposing bail. Eyewitness News reports the court heard that Matlaletsa and Mahlamba were heard bragging in a local tavern about beating a white farmer in Paul Roux and taking his car.
