The second edition of the MTC Namibia Youth Games started today and will end 18 December. The championships will see an estimated 1 092 athletes and 168 coaches and officials are currently gathering at Rietfontein in the Otjozondjupa Region to compete in eight sport codes, namely: football, netball, volleyball, basketball, boxing, tennis, athletics, and para-athletics. There is concern amongst members of the public as to how safe it is considering the spike of Covid-19 infections. The Minister of Sport, Youth and National Service, Agnes Tjongarero spoke to Future Media News from Rietfontein, about the Covid-19 regulations.
