The Robben Island Museum in Cape Town is offering visitors a special rate for the festive season in commemoration of the country’s Reconciliation Day. Newsflash reports that the offer also serves to celebrate the museum’s 21 years as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and its first anniversary as a marine protected area. Spokesperson Morongoe Ramphele says all necessary Covid-19 measures are already in place. Meanwhile, the chief secretary of the organisation Afrikanerbond, Jan Bosman says South Africans are growing further apart rather than reconciling with each other. Bosman told eNCA South Africa is in a state of daily polarisation with the inequalities between races, class and genders becoming even bigger.
