As part of his mid-term budget, South African Minister of Finance, Tito Mboweni announced that the government has allocated an additional 10-billion rand to SAA, 84.7-million rand to communications industry regulator Icasa, and 63-million rand to the state capture commission of inquiry. Analysts and political parties have criticised the budget, with political and financial analyst Solly Moeng saying many of the announcements in the budget paint a bleak picture of where SA’s economy is headed.
