The Agro- Marketing and Trade Agency says it takes pride in Stampriet’s Roots Agricultural village for its initiative towards their first locally produced apples. The Namibia press agency reports that in a statement issued on Sunday, the agency’s corporate communications officer, Pasval Elijah, said that Namibia cannot depend on other countries for food production and called on local farmers to emulate Roots and start producing a variety of food products to ensure food security and in turn provide locals with the much-needed employment which increases the country’s gross domestic product.
