The Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture has, following the announcement by President Hage Geingob on 18 September 2020 on the lapsing of the Covid-19 State of Emergency, issued a media statement explaining that the return to face-to-face education is in no way compulsory. The Ministry states that while the return to school is encouraged Learning from home remains an option for parents not yet willing to let their children return to schools. The Ministry stressed though that parents, guardians, caregivers, learners, and schools must the roles and responsibilities required of them and ensure that continued learning at home is practised so that no learner is disadvantaged in any manner.
