Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila believes that negative perceptions and narratives being published about the government and the Swapo party regarding corruption are not accurate reflections of the actual situation. The Namibia press agency quotes the prime minister as saying that the government’s commitment to fighting corruption is unquestionable and the continued reporting of suspected corruption incidents by individuals is indicative of the public confidence and the effectiveness of the governance system in dealing with such cases. “There is no doubt that we are making strenuous efforts as a country to fight corruption and those efforts are impactful,” she said.
