The Namibian Society of Composers and Authors of Music, or NASCAM is expected to pay out royalties in the range of N$ 1 million received from the National Broadcasting Corporation Radio and TV for music aired in 2019. Further to this, the Namibia press agency quotes the CEO of the body, John Max, as saying that NASCAM also received royalties from CAPASSO a sister collective management organisation in South Africa, and these royalties, collected from digital platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Spotify, and iTunes, will be paid in December 2020. Besides royalty collection, he said NASCAM had applied for fishing quotas in August 2018 in order to generate extra income and that while the application was rejected they have lodged an appeal and are awaiting feedback from the Ministry.
