The Namibian Police Force have cautioned the public from producing and selling face masks with the police logo, noting it has learned with concern that there are individuals who are impersonating police officers. The Namibia press agency quotes NamPol spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi as saying that “the use of the police logo by anyone who is not a police officer or in the employ of the police is not allowed because some individuals may use those masks in order to further and facilitate their criminal activities”. She further cautioned the public against criminals who would approach them claiming to be police officers, explaining police officers will be able to produce their appointment certificate and be in full uniform or both.
