The Namibian passport has been ranked 68th in the first quarter of the 2021 Henley Passport Index which ranks the world’s passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. According to the Index Namibian citizens are able to access 77 countries without having to obtain a visa in advance, in comparison to South African citizens who can access 101 using theirs. The Seychelles passport, ranked 28th in the world, is considered the strongest in Africa with access to 151 destinations while the Somali passport, which is ranked 106th only has access to 33 countries visa free. Japan came first for the fourth year running, with the country’s citizens able to access 191 destinations without a visa.
